At the dawn of time our world was raw, a backwater outpost in an uncharted galaxy, but the heavens
were not without life. Many ancient races blazed paths through vast nebulas in the name of conquest and discovery.

One of these races was the Elu'kya, a race of merchant mystics that found new planets to harvest for their natural resources. When an Elu'kya ship crashed on a primordial blue planet, they divided the world into manageable portions, each of them taking local primates and engineering them into smarter, tool-wielding simians that later became humans. 

As the humans evolved, so did the collective faith in their immortal progenitors. Humans began to
worship the Elu'kya as gods, but, as time passed, the Elu'kya became sedentary; living off the tributes of human priests and devout followers, and the human race, in turn, became less moved by the old gods. 

A new faith began to envelope the world, a faith centered on one God that was less cruel and less
demanding and, as this one true God rose to power, the old ones waned. Fearing death in the wake
of their abandonment, the Elu'kya retreated to nodes of power, selecting their most prized acolytes as wardens of their essence. 

Almost all of the Elu'kya retreated from the world of man…All save one; Set, the once God of the desert.
Set saw the decline of his brethren as his chance to strike and remold the world in his image. This would be easy for him, but there is one who stands in his way; Horus, the child of the god Osiris and a powerful human enchantress named Isis. As Horus’ blood was not purely Elu'kya, he could not rescind from the human world with his father, so he swore to protect it from Set's machinations. This is where our story begins.
